Original Picture Book | Watercolour, Coloured Pencil and Collage

Once the brightest stars of a circus, a marmot and a little boy are inseparable friends.

But when the king's command forces them apart, they begin to dream of different futures and gradually find themselves walking different paths. What first seems to be a twist of fate slowly reveals the invisible walls they have built within themselves.

Through separation, disappointment and self-discovery, they come to recognise their own limitations and rediscover the value of their friendship.

A story about growing apart and finding each other again, about pride, forgiveness, and the courage to grow together.

Inspired by the nostalgic world of circuses, kings and clowns, the illustrations combine watercolour, coloured pencil and collage to create a richly textured, classical atmosphere.

This is Elyon's first original picture book, developed over several years and completed in 2020–2021, before she began her MA studies in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.
