A half-cat, half-fox character sets out in search of a road of her own.

Along the way, she meets different paths, different people, and different possibilities. Through moments of wonder, frustration and loneliness, she gradually learns that finding a way is also a process of discovering and creating the self.

Inspired by ancient Chinese painting and Japanese ukiyo-e, the illustrations combine classical Asian influences with a flat, collage-like contemporary visual language.

Created in 2021 before Elyon began her MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.
